FESTIVAL

It is a time for those who want to get away from the mundane and for a few days move into a world where the needs of the soul and heart come first. We all want to take a break, feel more, become immersed in the beauty of the moment and experience something special together with like-minded people. It is difficult to experience this in the daily rush and string of responsibilities; it is challenging to be here and now. Egodrop combines music, art, and nature to form an integral, interpenetrating whole, letting each participant find an element or experience that will make them happy, enchanted, and satisfied.

HISTORY

The beginnings of our festival date back to 2010. That year we held our first edition in Będkowice near Krakow, then named Goa Dupa Open Air. The event attracted a crowd of around two hundred people who, despite the pouring rain, partied hard with us for many hours. The atmosphere was family-like, climatic, and very wet. Year by year, our event kept growing. We engaged in cooperation with more and more like-minded people sharing similar ambitions and worldview. Thus, from amateur visionaries, we have evolved to form a collective of professionals who still remember where the need to create such an event came from.

As our organisational skills grew and the festival gained popularity, we changed the venue to the Bieszczady Mountains. The festival expanded by adding further music stages, an extended workshop and “healing” zone, an art gallery, and a kids’ section. Our adventure with the Bieszczady came to an end in 2018. Due to almost three weeks of persistent heavy rainfall, we had to make the most difficult decision in our history and cancel the festival.

The following two years were a hard fight to keep our activity and projects afloat. After an in-depth analysis of various support options, we decided to increase our activity at events and intensify artistic collaboration with other music initiatives to pay off massive debts and continue to operate on the festival map in Poland. We never used “crowdfunding”, which was the final option for our collective. We have won the fight. It was possible thanks to our position and experience in the event industry, the talents of our artists creating decorations, preparing stage designs, and producing audio-visual but, first and foremost, thanks to the fantastic community we are a part of. Every year we thank you for your faith in our actions and your support in the most difficult moments.

In 2020, the festival was finally supposed to make a comeback under the name of the Egodrop Festival. Yet, the pandemic thwarted all our plans. So here we are in 2021, preparing for you the biggest and most attractive edition so far, on a new, beautiful site, where we intend to stay for years to come.
